Loving the Body You’re In (and Styling Her Well)

There’s a funny thing we do as women.

Our bodies change — sometimes in small ways, sometimes in big, “who even is she?” ways — but we keep dressing as if nothing’s happened.

We hold onto the jeans that haven’t zipped since our kids were in middle school, or that cocktail dress from that Christmas party in 2015, just in case. And there's no judgement here! I am guilty as charged as well, and I'm a personal stylist!

And yet… those clothes hang in the closet, silently judging us every morning.

Here’s the truth: You deserve to feel beautiful, confident, and completely yourself in the body you have right now — not the one you used to know. We are ALL worthy of that!

 

Step One: Let Go of the “Someday” Wardrobe

The biggest mental block I see? Dressing for a fantasy version of yourself.
Your body is not a “before” picture. It’s your now picture — and she deserves clothes that fit, flatter, and celebrate her.

That means saying goodbye to pieces that are two sizes too small “just in case,” or styles that no longer feel like you. Freeing up that space — physically and emotionally — is powerful.


Step Two: Update Your Measurements

Bodies change in subtle ways — sometimes without much notice. A few extra inches here, a shift in proportions there… and suddenly, the silhouettes and sizes that used to work feel off.
A quick measurement update (bust, waist, hips) will help you shop with confidence and skip the guesswork.


Step Three: Find Today’s Best Silhouettes

You might have been a pencil skirt queen in your 30s, but now you love the ease of an A-line or a wide-leg pant. That’s not losing your style — it’s evolving it.
Play with shapes that make you feel balanced, comfortable, and confident. And remember: no style rule is set in stone.


Step Four: Prioritize Fabric & Fit Over Size

The number on the tag is just that — a number.
A perfectly fitting size 10 will always look better than a too-tight size 8 you’re emotionally attached to. Look for fabrics that have a little give, drape beautifully, and move with you. Comfort and confidence go hand in hand.
